Throughout my college career, I have worked towards gaining an insight into the nutrition world. My strong desire to work in the fied of nutrition comes from my cousin, who was diagnosed as a type one diabetic at seven years old. Eleven years later, I still see the obstacles she faces. She has been my inspiration that has shaped my career goals. I would like to make an impact in the lives of individuals who have to live with this same disease on a daily basis. Nutrition plays a vital role in diabetics lives and to be a part of a bigger picture is what I strive to accomplish. I would like to complete my Dietetic Internship at a site that has a large focus on clinical rotations. I believe I will excel the most in this specific area based on my professional work experiences. After I have successfuly completed my Dietetic Internship, I plan on working at a hosptial or outpatient center. I have a strong desire to expand my education further beyond a bachelors degree. I am motivationally driven to obtain a masters degree in nutrition within the near future and become a certified diabetes educator.
